The Parsons High School chapter of National Honor Society inducted 21 new members during a ceremony Tuesday evening in the Parsons High School Auditorium.
Students are invited to join the organization as sophomores or juniors and must meet a cumulative 3.5 GPA stipulation. Through membership in the National Honor Society, students must complete a minimum of 15 hours of community service annually.

The National Honor Society is affiliated with the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP). When founded in 1921, the goal was to create an organization that would recognize and encourage academic achievement while developing other qualities essential to citizens in a democracy. There are four pillars that NHS was founded upon; service, character, scholarship, and citizenship.
