These 3 Vikings were classroom leaders last week. They leveled up in AR, and Study Island. Annalise had the most blue ribbons in Study Island for the week. Allayna finished all Study Island math topics and Blaise had the most AR points from tests taken last week. Way to level up!

Brogan shared how he spent his snow day at home. Ms. Vaughn was so impressed!! Go CATS!! 💜

We have the BEST School Board Members at USD 503!

In science Friday we explored some cold weather facts. We learned about the ice age and why snow is white. We added in some math by learning that snowflakes are symmetrical. We made snowflakes and other symmetrical designs using geoboards. It was a great activity for a cold day.

On Friday Ms. Vaughn's class
enjoyed some tech time with Mr. Peak exploring the Code and Go Mice.
Students loved using their creativity to explore.

No School on Tuesday, January 23, due to inclement weather and ice.

No School on Monday, January 22, due to inclement weather.

In math on Friday we practiced 2 digit subtraction by playing Blooket. The students had a blast answering questions and competing for first place. They all had randomized nicknames so they were the only ones to know what place they got which made it more fun!

These students earned the spots as on the student leaderboards!

Friday we discussed Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The students watched snippets of his I Have a Dream speech and also watched a video about MLK by kid president. They were so much in awe that they asked to hear it a second time and some recorded it on their iPads.

More symmetrical and snowflake designs created by Mrs. Tierney's students on Friday. What better way to learn about symmetry than to create symmetrical designs.

Sometimes inside recess can be just as fun as outside!

Happy National Popcorn Day! Today we read about the history of this tasty snack.

Congrats to Charleigh for passing her Study Island Math topics.

Ms. Ryan's first lunch date of the new semester. These four young ladies from Mrs. Strode's class used their points to "purchase" lunch with Ms. Ryan. We had a fun-filled lunch catching up on life over the past three weeks.

Last Friday afternoon, Mrs. Jacquinot's class and Mr. Medina's class spent some time learning and discussing Martin Luther King Jr.
