Back to school and back to working hard and being awesome! These second grade students have grit and are determined to succeed in school!






Floor scooters have been a part of PE for decades, but still provide as much fun today for students as are they are incorporated into games, like these students were challenged by that combined aspects of dodge ball.

The Garfield 2nd quarter Awards Assembly will be broadcast tomorrow Live on Facebook starting at 10:15.


Today, Thursday and Friday the kids earned time, in Mrs. Strode's class to explore more about space with the vr headsets, they all researched a planet, moon or dwarf planet and made some amazing books.






Today, Thursday and Friday the kids in Mrs. Strode's class learned about coding at Greenbush on Dec. 11 so they are going to practice more coding with the district mini spheres.





The final lunch with Ms. Ryan for this semester was with the girls of Mrs. Keal's class. After some much needed rest and relaxation, the students and I will resume our lunch dates in January. Happy Holidays to all of our Garfield families

Our class has been learning about traditions in different countries so we made Gingerbread house

We had a surprise visitor today. Miss Zoey got to show off her new baby sister that is 9 days old.


This class loves to create using STEM bins. For Christmas the class got some new STEM bin goodies including a fun math game and more magnetic tiles. They also got some pieces to add to sets that we already have because those sets are so loved.











This week we finished our math chapter over geometry. Students had a fun review lesson today where they found reindeer cards and wrote the name of the shape that the reindeer were made from. It was a perfect movement activity after a morning movie at LCC.






This second grade class got to play a quick game of Heads Up 7 Up with a third grader today. They love when he comes into our classroom. They ask him questions about third grade and he loves answering them. Today was the first time he led them in a game.
