Garfield students considered the plight of turkeys this time of year. They wrote about if they were a turkey how they would disguise themselves to escape landing on someone's dinner table. They then got to create their disguise on paper. These turkeys are definitely safe!

Mr. Medina's class joins Mrs. Jacquinot's class to work on their reading and social studies group Thanksgiving scavenger hunt. These little turkeys had a great afternoon of learning!

Congratulations to this little Viking on completing her Xtra math addition!! Way to go kiddo!

Love when a past student chooses to come back as a reward! And it's extra fun, when cousins get to hang out for a bit!

On Friday students had the opportunity to show some gratitude for the veterans of armed forces who walked and rode in the Parsons Veterans Day parade. Students learned about veterans in class and made signs to show their support and thanks.

Kiddos proudly waved their American flags during the Veteran's Day Parade.

In Mrs. Jacquinot's class, we finished up our week of Poetry with writing a poem!

Garfield students and teachers lined Main Street to give their support and thank Veterans during Friday's Veteran's Day Parade in downtown Parsons.

Children hold a special flag that was flown by a military pilot over another country where troops were stationed that Garfield students sent care packages to a few years ago. The flag was sent in thanks for the gifts. The Veterans Day Parade was the perfect time to bring it out.

We really enjoyed the Veterans Day parade!

Honored our Veterans this morning, which we are honored to do!

These 3 students completed all of Xtra Math today. This means they know all their basic facts for addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Way to level up!!!

Congratulations Austyn for completing her addition on Xtra math! Keep up the great work!!

Third graders were so excited to see that the leaves finally fell. Happy Fall!

Possessive nouns, were the objective today!

This little Viking was the first one to get 25 AR points in Mr. Medina's class! Mr. Medina has a deal with his class that anyone who can reach 25 points before winter break will receive a happy meal! Way to go kiddo!

Congratulations to Miss Charleigh for earning 100 AR points!

Mrs. Wright's second grade class took advantage of the beautiful weather Tuesday by going outside for their reading time.

Vaughn's Viking Pride awards. Emmalynn also has met her 50 pt AR goal as well!

This week Mr. Medina's class learned about Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead). This is a holiday celebrated in Latin America. The class read a book and compared and contrasted to the movie Coco. Students decorated a Catrina (sugar skull) coloring page and wrote six interesting facts about the holiday.
