Reading Rock Stars! These girls already made their August/September AR goals.


Mrs.Waun's students applied real world math during their Friday math rotations. They understand the value of hundreds, tens, and ones.






What's on the menu? BOOKS! Ms. Pollard's class had a yummy cook tasting today! Reading can be so tasty!








On Tuesday we started our first Go Math chapter by playing a game where we modeled numbers using unifix cubes. Students chose a number, modeled it and put their token on it. They tried to get three tokens in a row.






Garfield's little Vikings with their own Vikings! This was a fun project to promote Viking spirit!








The hiring process has begun! These kids did so great! We can't wait to find out who got hired Friday!

On Tuesday it was super hot out. Mrs. Tierney's class went out for a few minutes toward the end of the day after having our other recess indoors. The entire class helped pick up the playground balls and this group wheeled the cart inside. This class is so helpful!


Some morning STEM time and some indoor recess fun with STEM bins as well. I was told that the design with patterned blocks was carefully designed using blue and yellow because they are Viking colors.

Garfield students are proud to be Vikings! On Friday we started coloring our paper Vikings for the hallway. They are going to look great!







Due to an HVAC issue, the USD 503 school board meeting will not be broadcast live this evening, it will be recorded and posted at a later date. The meeting is being moved to the PHS Community Room.

Garfield School third grade teacher Shelby Liska provides a 10 minute "soft start" to the school day, giving her a few extra minutes to take roll and do other things, and giving students a few extra minutes to play quietly, use the restroom, or work on something.



On Friday we have fun making and eating snow cones thanks to Mrs. Martin! Yum!
