Christmas around the world with traditions from Germany. We learned that gingerbread houses are huge in Germany, so this afternoon we made gingerbread houses and then enjoyed eating them. They all did amazing working together to make and decorate their houses.

Our class winter party. We tried old fashion hot chocolate like the tradition from Sweden. Played Bingo and choose the cup Christmas tree for your prize. Then ended it with polar express.

Our Christmas party was a success! We had 7 parents join the fun! We did a cup stacking challenge, played bingo, and opened our stockings.
Mrs. Tierney’s class earned 10 compliments to fill their compliment chart and chose a Grinch Day as their reward. They had Grinch Punch, green candy canes, popcorn and watched The Grinch. It was so much fun!

Today Mrs. Tierney’s students used their phonics skills to build words using the letters in the word ‘SNOWFLAKE’. This activity was so much fun. The students found words like elf, elk, Noel, flow, self, and many more. How many words can you build using the same letters?
Merry Christmas from Mrs. Tierney’s second grade class! We are sad that one student was out sick, but the rest had fun meeting Santa today.
Mrs. Martin sat up a Christmas shop for my students (Mrs. Jacquinot) to shop. It was the cutest thing to watch them wrap the presents they chose. They used their swag bucks they earned to pay for their items.
