Ms. Moon's second graders embraced Fall, by learning about the science of cooking and changing states of matter, by making applesauce. We had the very best day!
Third graders visited the Parsons Historical Museum on Friday afternoon.
Thank you to the Parsons firefights for showing us how to call 911.
Zoey is my sunshine student!!! She is doing great things in 3rd grade!!
Showing our Garfield pride today!
Today Mrs. Strode's class finished up with finding out if the kids could out run a dinosaur that has the same leg length as them. Only one was able to outrun his dinosaur and that was Marcel. Everyone else was caught by their dinosaur. We had fun with it.

Three more additions to the 25 AR point club in Mrs. Tierneys class. These students read whenever they have a free moment (like when they have finished work early) and take comprehension tests over the books. Readers are leaders!
Students wrote an opinion piece about which animal they think would make the best pet!
Kiddos were detectives during reading today. They used magnifying glasses to look for text evidence to support their answers.
Hope to see you there! Garfield Elementary Concert, October 22, 2024!
Today during science we learned about foot prints and how we can tell if the animal was walking or running. Then we started the activity to find out if we can out run a dinosaur if they are the same height as us.
These students in Ms. Perez's class worked hard all September to meet their classroom goal in Accelerated Reading. Today, they got to celebrate with ice cream! Way to go!
Team Tierney has another reader in the 25 point club for Accelerated Reader! He's halfway to his 50 point year long goal already! Way to go!!
Second and third grade students brought their families to Garfield's 2024 Math Carnival, where math was made fun through a variety of carnival games. Students played math games, honing skills, and then sat with their families enjoying a free dinner with chili and cinnamon rolls.
Aloha from Mrs. Keal's third graders!
These two fantastic readers reached 25 points in Accelerated Reading today. In AR students read books and answer comprehension questions to earn points. The year long goal for second grade is 50 points. These rockstars are halfway there already!
Take a minute to thank our wonderful custodians for making our Parsons USD 503 schools shine!
