Today Mrs. Strode's class finished up with finding out if the kids could out run a dinosaur that has the same leg length as them. Only one was able to outrun his dinosaur and that was Marcel. Everyone else was caught by their dinosaur. We had fun with it.

Three more additions to the 25 AR point club in Mrs. Tierneys class. These students read whenever they have a free moment (like when they have finished work early) and take comprehension tests over the books. Readers are leaders!

Hope to see you there! Garfield Elementary Concert, October 22, 2024!
2 months ago, Ryan Bearrick
You are invited to the Garfield Elementary Halloween Concert, 6:00 pm October 22, 2024 Forest Park Pavillion
Students are expected to be at the pavillion by 5:45, but will stay with their adults and families until they are called up to the stage. You can use this time to figure out where they will be and to get good seating to see them! Lastly, the students have been talked to about clothing for the concert. Since this is a Halloween themed concert, They are welcome to come in costume! It is not required however. Please make sure the costumes are school appropriate. As well, we do not have space on the risers for the students to have inflatable costumes. Please, no costume make-up, masks, hats, wigs that block view of those behind, or anything that may hinder the singing process. Please have them leave their coats with you in the seats. Please avoid wearing sandals, flip flops, slides, slippers, high heels, or wedges. These can be dangerous for the children on the risers as they are a big trip hazard. Seaton Family Pavilion, Forest Park, 214 S 13th Street, Parsons, Kansas
Today during science we learned about foot prints and how we can tell if the animal was walking or running. Then we started the activity to find out if we can out run a dinosaur if they are the same height as us.

They had to use a ruler to measure the length of their legs to figure out which dinosaur they had to race. We will race next week to find out the answer.
