Camden is our Super Vike! He is a quiet classroom worker that follows the classroom rules and procedures. He sets a great example for others.

Garfield families joined in a fun night of STEAM learning activities , with a side of pizza, courtesy of Garfield Title I services, Curious Minds Discovery Zone and the dedicated Garfield staff that puts student learning first.

class enjoyed a short trip to the park. Everyone met their October AR goal of 10 points!
Third grade had a busy day last Thursday! First, we started our day off visiting the Haunted Stage at Guthridge. Then, we had fun playing games to review our multiplication facts under the black light. Finally, we finished our day off with our Halloween class party.

See what's happening at Garfield for the month of November
Study Island is one of our valuable educational programs. These students ate lunch with the teacher today to celebrate finishing all of their Study Island first grade math topics. When they finish second grade topics they are 'on the island' and celebrate with a tropical drink!
We wore red on Tuesday for anti-bullying week. We missed a few in the picture who were busy in other parts of the building.
A good book and a friend to read with us always so much fun. Students read Tacky the Penguin and discussed elements of the story using a graphic organizer to find characters, setting, beginning, middle and end.
Remember, Early Dismissal at noon on Friday, October 24th. Please make sure your child knows what to do when school is out or that you are here to pick him or her up. Lunch will be served & buses will run.
Monday, October 27th is picture day and we have a couple of scenarios.
Classroom Group pictures will be taken. You can order the classroom pictures online using the Order Code 0144SN at https://inter-state.com/Order. There will be no retakes for your students classroom picture.
Also individual picture retakes are available. If you purchased and were unhappy with your Picture Package, please send your Picture Package to school with your student. You should receive your Retake Picture Package in about four weeks.
Students who were absent on the original picture day can have their picture taken. You can order online using the Retake Order Code 0107QBF at https://inter-state.com/Order.

This Viking continues to push himself to be better each day. Today he completed all of the Kansas Programs Study Island topics for second grade math. Way to go, Coen!
